The Meek was: V I D E O S (Click to watch or right-click and then 'save target as' to download the file)
The North Carolina three piece The Meek originally convened in March of 2003 at former Blind Melon drummer Glen Graham's studio and recreational complex The Cat Farm. During the next 28 months, bassist
Stuart Cole, of The Squirrel Nut Zippers, and Guitarist/Vocalist
Joe Tullos
would sometimes turn up for what would prove to be a punishing regimen
of alcohol abuse and plagiarism. These lengthy sessions, though often
erratic, did little to curb their prodigious output. The variety and
scope of the music was so vast that the group managed to remember only
a small fraction of the initial dizzying output. Then, under the
watchful eye of legendary producer Lord Gillian Swain, (who in
the late seventies penned the UK hit singles "I'm Leaving Now", and "My
That Is A Nasty Cut") they recorded, in an astonishingly brisk six and
one half months, their first, and to date only Ep, the six song 'Relax,
It's Later Than You Think'. True to form, the Ep would not become
available for another year. Meanwhile, an extensive touring schedule
developed. The Meek were becoming seasoned showmen, playing as many as nine shows in a single year. Today The Meek
can be found at their beloved Cat Farm, working at breakneck speed on
their upcoming release, Stasis Race, due out tentatively, November 2009.
