Christopher Thorn interviewed by Greg Prato
March 3rd, 2010 by Vincent

Greg Prato recently interviewed Christopher Thorn for RollingStone.com about the forthcoming Shannon Hoon / Blind Melon documentary.
The still-untitled DVD is being directed by Colleen Hennessy and developed through Danny Clinch’s production company, Three on the Tree. While it will feature footage from several sources, the main focus of the film is the hours of footage Shannon Hoon shot himself over the years.
“…It’s one thing to read somebody’s writing, but when somebody looks into the camera, and you see the fear, the sadness, or the happiness. I would say it’s even more intimate… “ says Christopher Thorn. “…People are going to be absolutely blown away…” he adds.

Shannon’s self documentation finally coming to light is like the holy grail for us diehard fans…I have no doubt it will be amazing. Big kudos to Blind Melon and Shannon’s family and Colleen and Danny for making it happen.

After reading Prato’s book on Blind Melon, I’ve been eagerly looking forward to seeing some of the video that Shannon shot. I’m glad it’s finally coming to light. For those of us who saw the band beyond “No Rain”, this may be the final chapter we need in closure. I know I miss Shannon’s voice everyday, and the question mark tattoo I have on my foot for him and for Kurt reminds me of how much we lost,
