Blind Melon were playing at the Bluebird Theater yesterday in Denver, CO. That was the 2nd show the guys played after they announced the reunion with Travis Warren for a set of periodic dates. They played a free outdoor concert the day before that in Aspen, CO to inaugurate this season’s Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series and celebrate the Aspen Winternational Women’s World Cup.
Ryan Conway of the Blind Melon Forum and Blind Melon Articles was at the show in Denver and took a few photos and videos of the show. Click here to see more!

Brad Smith was part of the Grand Slam Jam, a tennis tournament organised by professional tennis players Mike and Bob Bryan and that was held last month at the Malibu Racket Club as a benefit for Bogart Pediatric Cancer Research & The Bryan Brothers Foundation.
Brad also played at the kickoff concert at Wokcano in Santa Monica, CA the night before the tournament. He joined 2008 American Idol contestant Michael Johns to play ‘No Rain’.

As you can see on the video below, Brad didn’t play bass on that song: he actually played Rogers Stevens’ guitar part instead!
That concert also featured the Bryan Bros Band, Pete Yorn, Lisa Loeb and many other guests.

Blind Melon has 3 dates booked. Travis Warren will be singing and more dates should be announced soon! The band will probably tour Europe in the summer.
Is this a permanent thing or are they just playing a few shows together? Well, until an official statement from the band, let’s just cross our fingers!
Update:
“We have decided to take up where we left off on December 31st 2008 by booking a few shows with Travis on vocals. We feel that he is the best man for the job and are looking forward to the future.” ~ posted by Blind Melon (Blind Melon’s myspace - 11/14/2010).
