Hi All,
Tracking is going great…we’re doing 8 new songs that we really like on this session and then another 10-12 next month. We’re planning to do 2 albums in this period before April. We’ll release one and then another a few months later (if all is up to par). Meeting with people etc….filming the whole thing with Danny Clinch for some kind of documentary type thing. All is going well in sunny LA (although it was kinda chilly here last week)…..more news soon
Journalist Greg Prato is currently working on a book about the history of Blind Melon. He has already done extensive interviews with all the surviving members as well as those close to the band (members of bands they toured with, producers, friends…).
Greg Prato has written a few articles about Blind Melon for the Rolling Stoneand Billboard magazines and is a friend of the band. The book should be completed sometime in 2007 so stay tuned.
The second leg of the 2007 tour is now finished. Blind Melon will be back in 2008 so don’t miss these guys! Thank you much for all the people who took pictures an videos during the concerts and gave me the authorization to post on beemelon. Check out the Tour section.
Jeremy did an awesome video of the Raleigh show that you can download here (right click and save as…) or play directly on this page. Thank you so much Jeremy!
Extra Virgin was Rogers Stevens‘ band after Blind Melon officially broke up.
From 1999 to 2002, his collaboration with singer Rene Lopez resulted in many great songs, a studio album entitled ‘12 Stories High’ and many concerts in the New York area mainly. The band split up during the recording session for a 2nd album so many things didn’t come out.
Thanks to Matthew Flood who ran the Extra Virgin website and with kind permission from both Rogers Stevens and Rene Lopez, here are demos, unreleased songs and never seen before pictures from the Extra Virgin days. Click here and enjoy!
Many thanks to Rogers Stevens, Rene Lopez and Matthew Flood
