The Live At The Palace album, originally released a few months ago, will be reissued on October 17, 2006 with a new package. The band was totally unhappy with the first release for several reasons: first, they hated the cover and then, the setlist was wrong and nobody who worked on the cd was credited: Blind Melon’s live engineer Lyle Eaves facilited the recording, Chris Thorn and Brad Smith mixed the cd but none of them got credit.
The band met the management team at Capitol Records shortly after the first album came out and managed to a obtain a rerelease of the album with a brand new packaging, new pictures, notes from Rogers Stevens and maybe more tracks.
Here is the cover which is the one the band first chosed but Capitol Records refused.

Sonya is a member of www.blindmelonforum.com who lives in North Carolina not far from Durham where Blind melon rent a house back in 1991. This house is now known as the sleepyhouse. So on Sunday, Sonya and her family went to Durham and found it! Check out the pictures she took there. Rogers confirmed it’s the right place.
Thanks to Sonya and also to Cheryl and Paul Filder for giving the address.

Dear melonheads,
Another vigil, third in a row!! YAY! If we can’t be there in Indiana with the other melonheads to celebrate Shannon, we can do it online and at least be together and feel connected and somehow closer… share stories, sing to melon together, listen to someone play some melon tunes online… just have some melon times together! So get your mics and headphones out, dust off your guitars and kazoos and join the intergalatic melonhead week end!
When?
Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd starting 3:33 pm Indiana time (9:33 pm for western europe) - there will be someone online from that time on hopefully throughout the night/week-end like previous years!
Where?
On Yahoo Messenger. If you don’t have Yahoo Messenger, just go there, download, install and sign up. Then follow the instruction from Diego to join the melon kingdom. If you have any problem, feel free to add lilliemelon or baarbr or vincebertin to your Yahoo Messenger.
COME!
If your computer is a bit slow, you will find older version of Yahoo Messenger here

There was a rumor in the air lately that I didn’t believe to be honest because it sounded so unreal to my ears! But now, it’s confirmed: the melon guys are back with a new singer !
We all know that Blind Melon will never be the same without Shannon Hoon and some of you may think it’s weird but just take a second and think about how lucky we are: we will soon be able to hear and maybe see Glen Graham, Brad Smith, Chris Thorn and Rogers Stevens playing some good music together again… that’s priceless!
The new singer is Travis Warren who was Rain Fur Rent frontman. Check out his voice and his music on his myspace.
This picture was taken at Brad Smith and Chris Thorn’s studio in Los Angeles and was sent by Rogers Stevens to the team of www.blindmelonforum.com with a cryptic quote from the 1979 movie Being There:
“In the garden, growth has it seasons. First comes spring and summer, but then we have fall and winter.
And then we get spring and summer again. Yes, there will be growth in the spring!”
-Chauncy The Gardener-
