There are a few things in the works for Blind Melon in the near future. Though the band is no longer playing together, the surviving members are still in close contact and are working through their archives to make some things available to those who are interested. There is a band-run website under development (www.blindmelonmusic.com is run by the label), which will offer previously unavailable demos, photos, documentary video, and live recordings etc. In September, Capitol will release “Blind Melon: Live at the Palace”, a live recording of one of the last shows the band played in 1995. This was previously released with errors in both the artwork and sequencing, and was subsequently pulled from the shelves. The new release will have the corrected, band-approved artwork as well as some additional songs. The band is working to make sure those who purchased the defective disc will be able to swap for the corrected one at no charge.

As you may already know, the remaining members of Blind Melon are trying to get the domain name of www.blindmelon.com. It’s been more than a year the board is down and the rest of the website is useless to the fans. As the current owner wants to keep it like this and has refused several times to sell, the band recently got a lawyer and sued him to get the site back.
“…the current domain owner has until tomorrow to respond to the complaint, and then it goes to the arbitrator, who typically takes about a month to issue a decision. We’re already developing the site, which will go online with or without the .com domain…”
