The Jake Leg: Glen Graham’s new side project
Glen Graham has just announced on the Blind Melon Forum that he’s formed a band called The Jake Leg with Joe Tullos. The band will be playing at the Blue Bayou in Hillsborough, NC on November 21st.
“…. I wanted to let the hardest of the super hard-core Melonheads know about the show just in case they wanted to do something crazy like drive to Hillsborough, NC to check us out.“ says Glen.
The Jake Leg are:
Mark Efland - Drums, congas
Glen Graham - Drums
Joe Tullos - Vocals, Guitar
Greg Bell - Piano, Organ, Accordion, Vocals,etc.. (Greg was in Chapel Hill’s infamous Chicken Wire Gang)
Peter Holsapple - Bass, Vocals (Peter was in the DB’s, The Continental Drifters, and has toured as a guitarist with everyone from R.E.M. to Hootie and the Blowfish)
From left to right: Glen Graham, Peter Holsapple, Mark Efland, Greg Bell, Joe Tullos.
“This band is a very casual affair. The recording below is just something we had lying around and I just slapped a second drum kit on it a couple of days ago (since we are a two drum set band). We just needed some kind of example of how we sound. That song is called Alpha Ray and is one of around 20 of Joe’s songs we have arranged for two drummers.” Glen says.
“Blind Melon has not broken up and we are still looking for a singer” assures Glen.
