The Kickstarter campaign has been a success! It even exceeded the initial goal with $ 115,224 raised.
Here is a message from Danny Clinch:
“Thank you all for the love and support shown on this Kickstarter campaign. We made it! The contributors, musicians, and those who shared their well wishes, we are indebted to your kindness. Thanks to the band and Shannon’s family and to the “Ladies and Gentlemen” collective: Shannon Hoon, Colleen Hennessy, Taryn Gould, and the rest of my team: Lindha Narvaez, Shawna Kaszer, Dan Prakopcyk, Lisa Connelly, Steven Trachtenbroit - lets kick up some dust and spread this amazing music around. Kinda feels like Shannon and i are still leanin on each other.”

Only 4 days to go and about $37 000 to be raised.
If we don’t hit the initial funding goal ($100 000), we won’t see anything we’ve raised.
So we need you to donate as soon as possible!

Greg Prato recently interviewed Christopher Thorn for RollingStone.com about the forthcoming Shannon Hoon / Blind Melon documentary.
The still-untitled DVD is being directed by Colleen Hennessy and developed through Danny Clinch’s production company, Three on the Tree. While it will feature footage from several sources, the main focus of the film is the hours of footage Shannon Hoon shot himself over the years.
“…It’s one thing to read somebody’s writing, but when somebody looks into the camera, and you see the fear, the sadness, or the happiness. I would say it’s even more intimate… “ says Christopher Thorn. “…People are going to be absolutely blown away…” he adds.

Colleen Hennessey is currently working on a documentary about Blind Melon. “…we decided to start it at the very beginning of Blind Melon and go all the way to 2007. This has extended the editing process quite a bit…” she said (*). Colleen actually works at Three on a Tree Productions that is a Danny Clinch compagny, you may have seen her and her camera during the 2007/2008 tour.
“… there is also another company working on a documentary of Shannon’s childhood that is planning to go to Sundance in 2011. I meet them at the Vigil this year and they are wonderful and coming from the heart…” said Coleen (*).
Both documentaries are awaited in 2011.
