Today is Chris Thorn birthday so, have a good one Chris!
Also, the 2nd Unified Theory album called ‘Cinematic’ is on its way featuring unreleased songs. The guys have planned to release this album on iTunes around February 2007 and they are back in studio this Tuesday to shot a video for the song ‘15 Hits’. No physical release of the cd has been planned yet.

The melon guys are in Los Angeles until Sunday recording new songs at Chris Thorn and Brad Smith’s studio. There is a cool article on billboard.com written by Greg Prato with Rogers Stevens talking about how the band got back together, about their new singer Travis Warren and revealing they have already 3 new songs (Make A Difference, For My Friends and Harmful Belly) Read the whole article here.
Thanks to Greg Prato

The Live At The Palace album, originally released a few months ago, will be reissued on October 17, 2006 with a new package. The band was totally unhappy with the first release for several reasons: first, they hated the cover and then, the setlist was wrong and nobody who worked on the cd was credited: Blind Melon’s live engineer Lyle Eaves facilited the recording, Chris Thorn and Brad Smith mixed the cd but none of them got credit.
The band met the management team at Capitol Records shortly after the first album came out and managed to a obtain a rerelease of the album with a brand new packaging, new pictures, notes from Rogers Stevens and maybe more tracks.
Here is the cover which is the one the band first chosed but Capitol Records refused.

American Minor is playing at Bonnaroo on the 16th. Chris Thorn and I produced this band last year at our studio and they brought back some good memories of the melon years. They are Killer live too! If you are in the area or going to Bonnaroo make sure you see them. Get a taste here.
