“A Devil on One Shoulder and an Angel on the Other” is the very first book to tell Blind Melon’s story. The author is Greg Prato, a New York-based music journalist who writes for a variety of sites and magazines, including All Music Guide, Billboard.com, RollingStone.com and Classic Rock magazine among others.
Greg Prato is also a Blind Melon fan and knows personnaly the Blind Melon guys since the early days.
He has interviewed over 50 people for this book (including the surviving members, members of bands they toured with, producers, friends, family members, etc…).
The book is 344 pages long and contains quite a few never-seen-before Blind Melon pics. It is available for purchase at Lulu.com for $19.99 only. Samples of the book can also be read at Lulu.com.

Like every year, the vigil will be the place to be to celebrate Shannon Hoon and his music with many many melonheads. This year is a bit special with Blind Melon playing a Shannon tribute show in Lafayette at Lucky’s on Friday 26th September. The vigil will take place on Saturday at Shannon’s grave and the vigilstock will be held on Sunday at Lucky’s again. Blind Melon was playing the last show of their european tour at The Rolling Stone in Milan, Italy on Wednesday. I was lucky enough to be at this show and as usual the band did an amazing job. It was great seeing these guys again and meeting some cool melonheads. Glen and Rogers told us they will be back in Europe during spring 2009 for a 6 weeks tour.
